SEC Network’s flagship news and information program, SEC now, will return next month with its three longtime hosts.
According to the ESPN newsroom, hosts Peter Burns, Alyssa Lang and Dari Nowkhah have each signed multi-year contract extensions with ESPN.
Nowkhah and Burns have been presenters of the show since the network’s inception in August 2014. Lang joined them soon after in the fall of 2018, according to the report.
“One of our greatest strengths at SEC Network is the depth of our talent roster, and we are better off having Dari, Peter and Alyssa in the SEC now anchor chair throughout the week, ”said Tom McCollum, ESPN’s senior coordinating producer. “Their collective passion for the conference, the connections they forge with our viewers and the relationships they have forged with our analysts make the show a must-have for fans.”
As the trio can be seen welcoming SEC now both in the studio and on the road at major conference events, they all contribute to network coverage in other ways as well.
According to the statement, Nowkhah hosts his ESPN radio show “Dari & Mel” and contributes to the game of basketball and baseball on ESPN networks. It can also be found hosting Featured SEC in the fall on the SEC network.
Burns’ additional roles have included providing analysis as a course reporter on SEC Network’s live coverage of the conference’s men’s and women’s golf tournaments, contributing to studio programming on all ESPN networks including The Paul Finebaum show, College football live and Sports center, and was recently a commentator on the PGA Championship coverage on ESPN +.
Similar to Burns, Lang has also been instrumental in studio programming on ESPN networks including The Salon Paul Finebaum, Sports center and Get up. She also co-hosted Primetime on ESPN Radio with Field Yates every NFL Sunday last fall, as noted in the release. Last year, a travel and lifestyle show starring Lang called From the pocket debuted on the SEC network. She said on Twitter that the show will return in the 2021 season.
