A recently released featurette takes us behind the scenes of the Walt Disney Studios sequel, Hocus Pocus 2. Published with the kind permission of Walt Disney Studiosthe behind-the-scenes look offers several glimpses of new footage from the highly anticipated supernatural comedy, with original star and global icon Bette Midler revealing what it was like to return to the world of Hocus Pocus after several decades. You can consult the Hocus Pocus 2 featurette below.
“As soon as we walked on set, the dynamic between the three of us was exactly the same as it was 30 years ago,” Midler says in the clip. “It’s as if these characters have lived for these 30 years.”
“It wasn’t a difficult transition coming back into those boots,” adds Kathy Najimy, with fellow star Sarah Jessica Parker saying, “It’s very special to be involved in something so meaningful in the life of somebody.”
The footage continues to reveal more details about the origin of the Sanderson Sisters, something director Anne Fletcher spent time considering in order to strike a balance between Disney’s beloved original and something new. “We wanted to incorporate all the people that the fans loved, and when you sat down with all the ingredients and the story, you’re like, how can we make this work?” The filmmaker explained earlier this year. “It was very difficult to try to get them involved, because we talked about it – thoroughly. You try to stay on track with the story, even if they came as a cameo.”
